In addition to airplanes, you can reach Corfu by ferries from Igoumenitsa port in Greece, Italy (Bari, Brindisi ports), and Albania (Sarandë port). The main port is located around 3 km from the Old Town, so you can take a bus to travel between them.
Corfu has an extensive public KTEL bus network that connects most touristy towns, beaches, port, and airport. Bus services are reliable and relatively affordable. You can pick up a bus schedule at the main bus station in Corfu Town or at your accommodation.
There are two types of bus on the island, the city blue-colored buses and the intercity green-colored buses. The Bus central station is located in Corfu Town.

In general, Corfu Town is the overall best place to stay in Corfu without a car. It is the capital and main port of the island. Staying here allows you to explore the historic Old Town, with its narrow streets, fortresses, and museums on foot, and using buses to reach other parts of the island.
During my trip to Corfu without a car, I spent 2 nights in Corfu Town in Bella Venezia and 2 nights in Messonghi in Hotel Rossis. Bella Venezia is a popular 3-star hotel, centrally located within walking distance from the Spianada square, museums, and fortresses.
