In addition to Florence, major cities in the region are Siena and Pisa. Siena is famous for its medieval architecture and the Palio horse race, Pisa is renowned for its iconic leaning tower, well-preserved Renaissance walls and beautiful old town.

There are also enchanting medieval hilltop villages such as San Gimignano, Volterra, and Cortona, which are a delight for visitors.
