Where to stay in Perth for first time: 6 Safe areas

I used to live in Western Australia for a couple of years and traveled to Perth a few times. I understand that finding where to stay in Perth as a first-timer can be overwhelming. That’s why, in today’s article, I will help you to find the safest places to stay in Perth for first-time visitors.

I will share with you what I believe are the best and safest areas to stay in Perth for first-timers and tourists, along with a helpful map and areas to avoid. I’ll also share where I stayed in Perth and recommend some of the best hotels for various budgets.

Perth is the capital city of the state of Western Australia, located along the banks of the Swan River. It is known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant arts and culture scene, and outdoor recreational activities.

The city has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. It is surrounded by beautiful beaches such as Cottesloe, Scarborough, and City Beach. These beaches are great places for swimming, surfing, and other water activities.

Perth has a well-developed transportation system, including buses, trains, and ferries, making it relatively easy to explore various parts of the metropolitan area.

Is Perth safe to visit?

Yes, Perth is generally a safe destination for travelers. However, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings, take common-sense precautions, and follow local guidelines to ensure a safe trip.

If you’re enjoying Perth’s nightlife, go with friends and be mindful of your alcohol consumption. Avoid walking alone and use reputable transportation options when heading home late at night.

Where to stay in Perth for the first time?

The best and safest areas to stay in Perth for first-timers and tourists are Perth CBD, West Perth/Subiaco, East Perth/Burswood, Northbridge, South Perth, and Fremantle. It’s always essential to be aware of your surroundings and take precautions no matter where you stay.

Perth CBD is the most popular area in Perth for first-time visitors. It is the heart of the city with easy access to major attractions, shopping, dining, and public transport. This area also has a widest range of accommodation for all budgets, so I’m sure you will find a hotel that suits your needs here.

Northbridge is a great area for vibrant nightlife and diverse dining options. During the day, it’s a hub for art and culture, while at night, it comes alive with bars and restaurants. It’s generally safe, but it’s advisable to be cautious in any nightlife district.

West Perth offers easy access to Kings Park, East Perth is close to Optus Stadium and Crown casino, South Perth is close to Perth Zoo.

It is located within a short walk from Elizabeth Quay where you can find many restaurants and cafes. Also close to Perth Underground, Murray Street and Hay Street. My room was big and clean.
