Hi guys, on my website, I already wrote an article about staying in Brussels for first-timers (I will put the links to it at the end of this article). In today’s article, I will help you to find the best places to stay in Brussels for Christmas Markets.
I will provide you with a list of what I believe are the best areas to stay in Brussels for Christmas Markets, along with a helpful map. I’ll also share where I stayed in Brussels and recommend some of the best hotels in Brussels.
Brussels, Belgian capital, has a variety of Christmas markets. Some of the best Christmas Markets in Brussels include:
- Christmas Market at Grand Place
- Christmas Market at Rue de la Bourse
- Christmas Market at Place Sainte-Catherine
- Christmas Market at Marché aux Poissons
- Christmas Market at Place de la Monnaie
Brussels Christmas markets start from 24 November to 31 December. The city typically transforms into a winter wonderland with festive decorations, twinkling lights, and a variety of stalls selling gifts, food, and drinks.
Don’t miss out on trying some traditional Belgian treats like waffles, hot chocolate, and Belgian fries. You can also sample local beers and mulled wine (vin chaud) to keep warm.
Brussels’ Christmas markets offer a great selection of unique gifts, handmade crafts, and festive decorations. It’s a fantastic place to shop for Christmas presents.
The city is beautifully lit up during the Christmas season. You can take a stroll through the streets to admire the dazzling lights and decorations. Many of the markets have ice skating rinks, which can be a fun activity for both adults and children.
Brussels can get quite chilly in the winter, so dress warmly. Layers are key to staying comfortable as you move between the markets.
You can immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting historic sites, such as the Atomium or the Manneken Pis, and trying traditional Belgian cuisine at local restaurants.
You can reach Brussels by air, train, and bus. The city is served by the Brussels Airport (Zaventem) and Brussels South Charleroi Airport. From these airports you can take a bus/train to the city center.
Once you’re in Brussels, you can use the city’s public transportation system, which includes trams, buses, and the metro, to reach the Christmas Markets.
